Eiga Sai 2014 is showing 16 contemporary Japanese films. Featured movies include:

  • Homeland, a movie shot in Fukushima, about a broken family seeking for light and hope,
  • Reunion, the story of a man who volunteered at the temporary morgue in a high school gymnasium after earthquake and tsunami,
  • and Wolf Children, a feature animation about a mother and her "wolf children".

After Manila, the festival will continue in cinemas in Davao City and Cebu City until August.
