The 2014 Spanish Film Festival Pelicula presents the best and brightest of contemporary Spanish cinema.

Fans of Spanish films are in for another treat as this year's Pelicula/Pelikula opens with 20 films from Oct. 9 to 19 at Greenbelt 3 Cinemas - which is one among the many film festivals in Manila.

Among  the highlights of the film festival is the presentation of Spanish filmmaker David Trueba about his movie “Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados” (2014) on Oct. 10, 7pm. The movie brought the director six citings during the last Goya Awards including Best Film and Best Director. Guests will have a chance to interact with Trueba through an open forum after his talk.

The line-up of films range from romance to comedies, documentaries, suspense and drama. Must-watch are "La Gran Comedia Española," "2 Francos," "40 Pesetas" and "Todas Las Mujeres." Some of the films in the festival will also be shown in other cities in the Philippines like Baguio, Ilo-ilo, Zamboanga and Davao.

During the entire duration of the 11-day festival, the audience will be given stubs in which they get a chance to win a round-trip ticket to Spain and other prizes.

The Spanish Film Festival is presented by Instituto Cervantes, the Embassy of Spain-AECID, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
