The busy Megacity life comes to a halt in parts of Metro Manila during the Easter holidays. Find out here which malls are open during the Lenten Season and whether the trains will be in operation.

Lenten Season, more popularly known in the Philippines as Holy Week/Semana Santa/Mahal na Araw, is an important part of the Philippine calendar because of its religious significance.

Mall schedules often change starting Maundy Thursday where most establishments in the country either shutdown operations or operate only for a few hours of each day until Black Saturday.

In 2016, Holy Week starts on Palm Sunday, March the 20th. Maundy Thursday falls on March 24, followed by Good Friday on March 25, Black Saturday on March 26, and Easter Sunday on March 27.
