Boracay offers you some of the prime beaches of Asia, combined with its famous nightlife, delicious cuisine, luxurious resorts and a lot of adventure.

Boracay has everything you need and more - that is if you are not looking for a place far from civilization to have some quiet time to yourself. The beaches are breathtaking, the choices of restaurants and bars are incredible, hotels and nightlife are first class. This is the place where celebrities from the Philippines, the United States, and other countries might bump into each other, from where henna tatoos are proudly carried back to Manila and where the saying 'what happens in Boracay, stays in Boracay' becomes reality.

Boracay is the most developed island location in the whole country. The island offers everything a Megacitizen might look for when trying to escape Manila for a couple of days. The beach is split into different tiers (1, 2, ...) and the lower the number, the more beautiful the beach. If you ask us, all of them are beautiful. It only gets less lively when you approach tier 2 or 3. So if you prefer a bit less noise, you might want to settle for those. If you want to be where the party is, tier 1 is your choice. This all refers to the White Beach, voted the most beautiful beach in the world in 2007. There are more beaches such as the Yapak Beach which is known for beautiful white shells and the secluded Balinghai Beach - the perfect place for couples and honeymooners.

There are two ways to get to Boracay. One way is to fly directly to the port near the island i.e. to Caticlan airport. From there, you can take a banca (a rather small Philippine boat) to the port on the island. These bancas might have different stops on the island, so make sure you ask the staff at the port which banca you have to take to get to your hotel. From the port on the island, just get a tricycle if you did not arrange hotel pickup beforehand. A cheaper option is to fly to Kalibo, take a bus from there to Caticlan (roughly an hour) and then hop on a banca going to  Boracay (roughly 30 minutes).
