Metro Manila · Race to Boracay unveils fastest drivers in town
Out of 220 participants, Aira Medrano and Tai Zulberti emerged as the fastest drivers in the recently concluded "Race to Boracay" hosted by City Kart Racing at Circuit Makati.
Zulberti topped the juniors class with Gabriel Cabrera and Tatin Reisch coming in second and third, respectively. Running up to Medrano in the adults class were Mon Reyes for second place and Stephanie Ho for third.
Considered to be the country's biggest with 220 participants, Race to Boracay is City Kart Racing’s first major project since it opened in its new location at Circuit Makati. The competition attracted a mix of professional and amateur drivers of all ages. The youngest who participated was 13 years old while the most senior was 77. Male and female karting enthusiasts of various nationalities took part in the qualifying rounds. The final race on November 23 had the top 10 doing a best of 20 laps around the 700-meter track which combined straights and technical turns.
City Kart Racing chairman Jean-Marc Freihuber promises a bigger race next year. "Those who want to start preparing can enroll in karting classes conducted regularly for cadet and junior levels," says Freihuber.
