Metro Manila · Bonifacio Global City (The Fort, BGC)
The Fort Bonifacio HotSpot is often referred to as just 'the Fort'. For our HotSpot area, we refer to the Market Market Mall area and the Serendra complex, the adjacent High Street, and the nearby Fort Strip and Fort Entertainment Complex.
There is another nice area in the Fort around Burgos Circle, you will find it in the HotDot section. Both of them are located in one of the rising business districts in the Megacity, in Taguig. While Makati is definitely THE business district, the Fort area is the clear runner-up.
The Market Market Mall offers all kinds of shopping and eating experiences as well as entertainment. Quick round of laser tag? Go there! The good thing about this area is that it features a nice market where you can buy flowers as well as fruits, vegetables, and local specialties from all over the Philippines for little money – definitely worth a visit!
Serendra is a residential complex with many high-class restaurants in the center. The best restos are featured below, for a description of the residences click here.
The Hight Street is a pedestrian area, adjacent to the Market Market Mall. It is a great place to stroll, have a coffee or get a Spa experience. It offers all kinds of shops, neatly set up down the street. In the middle of the two streets is a green strip with some water fountains. The whole place is very nicely kept and the shops guarantee a perfect outdoor shopping experience. No matter if you are looking for a place to do your Sunday stroll or if you would like to buy completely customized running shoes, the Fort HotSpot is the place to go to!
Near the western end of Bonifacio High Street you find the Fort Strip and the Fort Entertainment Complex, a cluster of international restaurants, cozy bars, and stylish clubs and lounges.
A Typical Day in the Fort Bonifacion HotSpot:
I pick Sunday as a perfect day to go to this HotSpot. I start with a nice breakfast at one of the local or international coffee shop chains while watching more and more people pour in from all over the Megacity. When I am reasonably caffeinated, I take a walk through the market area and find some of my favorite specialties which I´ve already tasted on my visits to other places in the Philippines. After the first bags are placed in my hands, I decide for a stroll down and then up the Hight Street with occasional stops to take some pictures or just relax on a bench and watch people passing by. The general slow pace of the High Street is my perfect Sunday panacea for all the stress accumulated during the week. After taking a nice lunch at one of the restaurants of Serendra, in the junction area between Mall and High Street, I decide for a movie. Market Market offers a great cinema experience and therefore a relaxing way of smoothly fading out my weekend.
