Metro Manila · Legazpi Village (Makati)
Legazpi Village is the other HotSpot that is situated in the heart of Megacity Manila. There is a lot to write about this HotSpot but it definitely stands for shopping, shopping, shopping. The following malls are located within Legazpi and are just a stone-throw away from each other: Greenbelt, Glorietta, Landmark, and SM Makati. All of them are easily reachable either by the connecting pedestrian-bridges or by well-regulated pedestrian crossings.
The different characteristics of the Malls allow for a holistic shopping experience. You can find everything from cheap clothes to laptops and state-of-the-art European designer elements. All you need is a lot of time the the right amount of pocket money. Check out our section on Malls to get further information. An insider tip: the Legazpi Village Night Market.
The Malls are not only good for shopping though. Greenbelt offers a space to breath and relax in the midst of the busy downtown district. For coffee, or for dinner and drinks, Greenbelt is the prime location for Megacitizens to hang out. It features various international and local restaurants of the highest quality and pairs them with a green and cozy atmosphere. No matter if you look for a place to relax and sip a coffee or if you are planning a business meeting over dinner, Greenbelt in the Legazpi HotSpot is definitely you go-to place.
Unfortunately, similar to the traffic in the Salcedo Hotspot, but not as bad, you should take precautions while planning to travel during rush hour. If you can avoid it, it is better to leave earlier or stay a bit longer in the office or where-ever you are to avoid being stuck in traffic.
A Typical Day in Legazpi Village
If I go to Legazpi Village it is usually for dinner or shopping, or both. We'll meet at Greenbelt and gather some energy for the shopping experience that lies ahead. A quickly sipped coffee in the heart of Greenbelt gives our body enough caffeine to sustain hours of shopping experience. We leave alone the nice shops in Greenbelt and start at Landmark. Landmark offers the best prices of all the malls there and is always worth to discover. After that, straight to SM Makati and then Glorietta. Glorietta allows us to take a breath and sit down for another coffee or some food. Most food chains are represented inside Glorietta so it is no problem to find something to satisfy our cravings! After Glorietta has been explored, the shopping-expedition ends where it started: in Greenbelt. Not for shopping but for good Spanish tapas and wine at one of our favorite restaurants – in the cozy atmosphere of a typical Megacitizens location.
