Washington Sycip Park near Greenbelt mall is a quiet patch of green in Legaspi Village, Makati.
Washington Sycip Park, named after Philippine banker Washington Sycip, is a quiet patch of green that opened in the year 2006. Located in Legaspi Village in Makati, this pocket park is home to a number of tropical trees and plants. It is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm.
This no smoking, no pet zone has two gazebos with seating areas as well as benches that dot the park. This mini-park is also home to birds the likes of yellow vented bulbuls and pied fantails. This part of Legaspi Village also has a koi pond.
But what makes this place different from the other parks in Makati is it has a hidden music system that plays soothing music. Some people also play the flute every morning and evening.
Washington Sycip Park also has various sculptures by Filipino sculptor Impy Pilapil which includes an obelisk piece made from white stone, a blue steel pipe sculpture, stone turtles, and giant urns. The piece called “Entry” is another white stone sculpture that stands proudly at the pocket park.
