The annual Pyro Olympics will once again create a literally explosive atmosphere at Manila Bay on the coming weekends. Pyro companies from several countries compete in setting up the best compositions of light, fire and music to amaze a cheering crowd.

The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition - which is the Pyro Olympics' official name - always manages to fill even the last spot in Mall of Asia (MoA), from where you can see the intensive fireworks and hear the orchestrated music. Due to the proximity to the Manila Bay, people even go there by yacht and watch as the sky lights up in all the different colours of the rainbow - and more.

If you want to experience the Pyrolympics, make sure you get a reservation at one of the restaurants which cater to the outside of the mall and allow for a good view at the fireworks. That way you can have a nice dinner and cool drinks while watching the fireworks.

Each Saturday evening, two leading pyrotechnics companies from two different countries will show their art. Tickets are available here
