The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) holds an institution-wide workshop on Philippine literature and performance for its employees and also for public school educators as part of Performatura 2015, a three-day event in November this year. Performatura 2015 will be held on November 6, 7 and 8 at various locations within and without the Center. The event is free or open to the public.
The City of Koronadal holds an annual merry-making or “hinugyaw” (Ilonggo dialect meaning merry-making) with street dancing and tribal performances complete with a gala of colourful costumes and large attractive props and ornaments to the delight of the spectators who usually gather in throngs lining up the streets. From the street dancing and parade, the groups gather in one large venue for the group’s full length performance entertaining an even larger audience.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines, with support from Art Cube Gallery presents a solo exhibition by venue grantee Melvin Culaba on July 2, 2015, at the Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2nd Floor Hallway Gallery). The exhibit runs until August 16, 2015.
Philippine Ballet Theatre’s version of Don Quixote is culled from the works of Marius Petipa and Mikhail Baryshnikov. A full-length work based on Cervantes’ famous story, Don Quixote is considered by many as one of the most well-loved dance classics of all time. It is an interesting and touching tale on gallantry and romance, created with the dramatic music of Ludwig Minku.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) invites choirs from all over the world to compete in the 2nd Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival, Manila, 2015 which will take place on July 22-25, 2015 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The Competition is open to choirs who will qualify in the following categories: Folk Song, Vocal Ensemble and Chamber Choir.
