The Mandarin Oriental Manila was one of the first luxury hotels in the Central Business District when it opened in September 1976. For more than 40 years, the hotel hosted countless international stars, diplomats, businessmen and Manila's creme de la creme within its storied walls. Each year, the Metro's elite and members of the press awaited its popular Chinese New Year countdown led by its resident geomancer Joseph Chau. A new Mandarin Hotel is set to open in Makati, just across its former location, in 2020.
Update 15.08.2014: Martinis is closed due to the reconstruction of the Mandarin Oriental. Martinis is stylish cocktail lounge and cozy live music bar at once. As the name suggests, Martinis are the specialty of this location, which is part of the Mandarin Hotel.
